Automated checks, human decisions

In this article: Our systems flag cases — our Compliance team decides.

Written by Marius Wickie Support

Like every regulated financial services provider, Wickie uses automated systems to help us meet our legal obligations. These automated systems verify identity documents, screen names against sanctions and politically exposed person lists, and monitor transactions for unusual patterns. They check, flag and prioritize cases for review.

Automated systems do not have the final word on your account.

Every decision that materially affects you is reviewed and taken by a trained member of our Compliance team.

Examples of these decisions are:

  • whether we can onboard you

  • whether we need to ask you for further information documents

  • whether a payment is held pending information/documents from you.

A person looks at your individual case, at the context, and at anything you have told us, before a decision is taken.

If you disagree with an outcome, you can ask us to look at it again. Write to [email protected] and an officer will review the issue.
