How to send cryptocurrency with Wickie

In this article, you'll learn how to send cryptocurrency using Wickie — on both the mobile app and web

Written by Marius Wickie Support

Sending crypto with Wickie is straightforward and secure, whether you’re using the mobile app or the web version. Below you’ll find simple, clear guidance for both.

📱 Mobile App

  1. Tap Payments → Send money → Crypto

  2. Pick the cryptocurrency and enter the amount, then tap Continue

  3. Select My wallet (currently the only option available due to regulatory requirements)

  4. Enter the recipient's (currently ONLY your own) wallet address:

    • Manual entry — higher risk of mistakes

    • Copy & paste — best choice ✅

  5. In the Payment description field enter your full name and the wallet provider (e.g. Ledger, Exodus, OneKey)

⚠️ Without this, the transaction will not be accepted

  6. Review the details, tap Confirm, and approve with two-factor authentication

🌐 Web Version

  1. Go to Payments & Transfers → Crypto

  2. Choose the cryptocurrency and enter the amount

  3. Select My wallet (currently the only option available due to regulatory requirements)

  4. Enter the recipient's wallet address:

    • Manual entry — higher risk of mistakes

    • Copy & paste — best choice ✅

  5. In the Payment description field enter your full name and the wallet provider (e.g. Ledger, Exodus, OneKey)

⚠️ Without this, the transaction will not be accepted

  6. Click Continue and confirm with two-factor authentication

🔐 Very important: first transfer to a private wallet

If you’re sending crypto to your private wallet for the first time, Swiss regulations require the wallet to be whitelisted before the transfer can go through.

To whitelist a wallet:

  • Initiate the transaction in a regular way

  • Follow further instruction sent you by email

👉 For full step-by-step instructions, click the button below to start the wallet whitelisting process.

⚠️ Keep in Mind

  • Always double-check the wallet address — crypto transactions are irreversible

  • Make sure your balance covers the amount plus fees (find fees under Explore → Fees)

  • In some cases, we may request additional information to comply with Swiss regulation requirements, such as KYC (Know Your Customer) details or verification of payee (VOP) checks. Transfers to exchanges may also be declined if the receiving exchange does not comply with the Global Travel Rule.
